Design Wall Monday - Week 32

I've been doing more quilting than sewing, so the design wall is a mish-mash of chunky log cabin blocks.
I've been strip piecing them, which might not be working for a leader/ender project - I had to put the blocks up on the wall because I kept losing track of which step I was on. I'm going to cut the necessary pieces to finish these twelve - I'll need something easy to grab when I'm making bindings later this week.

I did decide to add another row of red and blue, so they'll finish 14" square.

  1. It is hard to do a larger block as a leaders/enders. Whenever I try to have such a project, it usually ends up becoming to projet to work on or I end up with two projects at once.

  2. It's a good thing to always have something quick and easy to work on in between challenges!

  3. Those are happy blocks, I usually like to work through assembly line style whenever I can, regardless of leader/ender.

  4. You know log cabin blocks are super versatile and can be laid out in so many designs - its mind boggling - you can really have fun with the colors you've chosen! Can't wait to see what happens next!

  5. Love that big gingham print in your log cabins! I was doing a largish block for a leader-ender too and sure felt like it was taking up too much of my "real" project's time, lol!

Don't you love big blocks, tho? They sure make up into a good sized quilt fast!
