Triple Zip - Finished!

Whew - I survived three zippers!

One thing I did differently from the tutorial was leave my tabs uncut until the end. I found it was easier to start sewing in the to-be-cut-off zone. Even still, I broke a needle going through the zippers. {Argh!}

I also used a firm fusible interfacing from my stash instead of fusible fleece. I think it's stiff enough as is!

I read both endings about a million times, and I still didn't do it right. I couldn't tell where to start/stop sewing to make nice corners - mine are, well, less than perfect.

But hey - it fits my electronic essentials!

  2. Looks great Kate. Smart of you, to leave the tabs uncut until the end.

    As for the last step, I re-did mine once and what I ended up doing was sewing up the entire length of both sides (of course leaving the opening for turning) going VERY slowly over the zipper area because it's thick and bulky and kind of awkward, with the outer and liner on either side like in the alternate ending post.

  7. I love these. Definitely on my "to do" list. (well, the list that floats around in my head, not the one composed of actually in progress things!) Zippers still throw me and I can't count the number I've installed!

  10. Nice, sweet, color choices! I love it!
    I love seeing what everyone is putting in their triple zips. Mine is still sitting here empty waiting for something to be put into it, LOL!

  14. I like the Dear Stella. Let me tell you, my top corners are terrible. I cut off the ends like you didn't so not only are the corners not good, the ends aren't really sewn in. At any moment this giant seam with raw edges will pop out of the top since I cut off the zipper tabs on the ends. So yours looks good :)
